Our avocados are available year-round in grocery stores across the US. Our mission is to drive sustainable growth and bring more avocados to more people. We do this through demand generation, customer education, and ongoing research.
Avocados From Mexico (AFM) is a subsidiary of MHAIA and a joint venture with APEAM (Association of Avocado Exporting Producers and Packers of Mexico).
AFM was formed for the purpose of advertising, promotion, public relations, and research. Under agreements, MHAIA and APEAM combine resources to fund and manage AFM, to provide a focused, highly effective marketing program in the United States. AFM is headquartered in Irving, Texas.
Michoacán and Jalisco is the central hub of avocado production. In this special region, four topographic areas, ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 feet in elevation, have their own unique climates, resulting in four staggered avocado harvests a year. This makes it the largest year-round avocado producing and exporting area in the world.
